PLEAZ HELP
I just assemembled a computer and it is not booting. Basically what is happening is is that only the BIOS work. When I try to save and exit, although my computer is still on (judging by the fans which are remain spinning), the monitor begins to show the message "no input signal". I have not been able to load Microsoft XP because of this problem. |

You're not being very clear there... So you loose your video signal after you exit the bios setup? So what happens if you don't go there? Will it get past POST and try to boot(most machines come on auto ide detect ya know...)

No, I actually did not have windows loaded at that time. Now, I got them to load and work. The only thing is is that my ram (2x512 pc-3200 dual channel centon) is not in dual channel on my mobo (dfi lanparty nf4 sli-dr). Instead of being on the corresponding slots, I had to put the RAM sticks next to each other (not on the recommended slots by the manual). Everytime I boot now though I have to press <F1> in order for it to boot because it complains about the RAM not being in dual channel mode. Will this cause any system instability?

the system will not have instability, but your not getting the full potential from the ram. try putting them the way the manual recommends, but switch the ram around from the way u have it. if not, try the other two available slots.

QUESTIONS 101
Reset the BIOS first and see if it will boot through with the default settings.

Your OS will be fine, your ram settings will be the only thing that changes. If you reset your BIOS all the settings on the mobo will be reset to default.
