Slot 1 was the way to hook up Pentium 2 and were phased out during the days Pentium 3. I don’t think you can find any parts in those IBM's to make any modern day Gamming computer.

you can use the case and the floppy drive and that's it. Slot one mb are obsolete.

The case would be coolio to have a killer gaming system in (kinda like a sleeper) but no, if you're planning on acutally using the included equipment, don't buy it. The motherboard uses the old slot 1 interface.

If he's building a server (which he's not) he could use the slot 1 board and buy a Xeon or the like (they also come in slot 2 variety though, so you gotta make sure you get the right one and make sure the board can handle it). Like said though, that wouldn't make the best of a gaming machine.
