Post Graphics card - dedicated vs. shared memory

I'm looking for a laptop. I prefer something with a graphics card with dedicated memory but most of what I've seen are using shared memory.

I'm wondering... in terms of performace (although I know dedicated memory is better... ), how do I compare a card with 64MB dedicated memory to the one with 128MB shared memory? Is the one with dedicated memory still better even though it has less memory?

I need a graphics card that I can play games like Sim City 4 and some maps utilities...

most of the time you will only find laptops with shared memory, they aren't supposed to be used to play games. If you find a 'destop replacement' laptop it should have more than good enough video to do what you want.
