Question No video- monitor blank

[size=4]Wanted to add more ram to my computer. eMachine S1862. Removed ram chip to double check type of ram. Re-inserted and now I get no signal to monitor (well there must be some type of signal becase if I unplug monitor, the monitor say "no signal, Check cable"). Tried a new video card and new ram, still nothing but a blank monitor. Any thoughts?

Try putting the ram into a different ram slot.

no signal, Check cable
It a message the monitor gives when the cable to the monitor is damaged or unplugged.

Tried that. There are 2 slots tried in both as well as having ram in both slots.

Default mirrored ram

No. It does not require that. However when I tested it with ram in bot slots it was with two 256mb chips.
