Hi,
I am going to be building a computer soon, but im not getting the new TFT monitor untill Christmas. I have an old compaq monitor, but it will not work right. When it is turned on, the green light comes on, then the monitor makes a clicking noise, then the light goes amber. (I think this is standby). Why is this? |

you should check to make sure that all of the pins on the connector to the vga cord are in tact, they are very easy to bend, and a pretty common problem when it comes to a "no-signal" issue

when i built my comp, i initially tried to put in a vid chip using the pci slot. I ended up having to reset the bios b/c by default the mobo was set to find the vid card from the pci express slot. so maybe try resetting the bios.
