I want to build my own gateway windows xp gaming system and i need lots of help and ideas.Please help me with advice and support.lol.

My budget is about 500.Not including the monitor.

you aren't going to build a gaming comp for $500
you need at least $700-$800 for a minimum, $1,000 for a decent one

better save up for a few more months. while you wait for the money to roll in, maybe look into what processors gateways tend to use., becuase any gamer will tell you amd is the way to go. do u plan on buying a gateway comp and upgrading it?

go to ebay and you can get a NICE dell 8400 for gaming for like $500-600 US $

I know a configuration for around 500 (w/out the OS) that would max out games like Half-Life 2, Halo, etc. It is true though that it wouldn't do as good as a $700 to $800 computer, but it would work fine for gaming, trust me.
