Default Need a COM port for my laptop

Hey Guys

I got a new IBM R51 Laptop soon realised that it does not have a RS232 Port, can anyone suggest what is the best to add at lesast one COM port to my laptop

There are lots of little USB to COM Port addaptors that can be found most anywhere. I got one off ebay for a few bucks..

What do you want to use? I hear some things are incompatable with those devices. Like my GPS(Garmin GPS 76) apparently only works with a few of these.

Thanks for you reply, i want to use the com port to link with some industrial machines, usually to diagnose problems or change settings etc, i'll try to find a USB to Com port adaptor anyway and see how it goes.
