Analog LCD's recieve their input through something like 12 or something pins. Each pin transmits a color. Digital input is sent as pulses. I'm sure there is a better explaination but I dont know it.

well... a analog LCD monitor has its AD converter (analog->digital) onboard.
a digital LCD hasnt.
