Default Power help.. very odd.

i have a generic 500 watt ps.. never had issues.. computer runs fine.. but..
when i turn off my computer it will shut down.. but the fans continue to run the lights in and on my case continue to stay on and my speakers humm.. .. any ideas on what is happening.. i havent changed anythin on my comptuer it just started..

Well maybe you are not shutting down but going into standby. If that is not the problem, then maybe you are facing a problem wither with the motherboard or the PSU itself. Simply said, the command to shut down the PSU is not doing its job.

so is my problem psu related?? its a ttji or ttgi or something its just a cheep power supplly but help? do i need a new one if so whats teh best one for the money.. i wouldnt mind it being cable wrapped already..

Do you have access to another psu you can swap to test? If you throw another psu in and shutdown and fans stop spinning and such, you know its your current psu that is the problem.

i dont have access to another one.. i would have to buy one.. but what i dont understand is if the psu had problems then y does the computer run fine??

just because it has a problem doesnt mean it wont run fine, a coded applet will still compile and even run even if it doesnt do what its supposed to and do it properly......
