Default Need a little advise

Ok I have $1500 to spend and I need everything. I want to play games such as Half-Life 2, Battlefield 2, etc. I have an idea of what to buy but I would like some experienced advise. This computer will be assembled by myself so I just need a list of parts. Thanks.

Get an AMD processor since it sounds like u wanna play games. You get also a nice 7800 GTX card with that.

if you can afford it, go amd 64 x2, if you cant, just get an amd 64 3500+ or better. And get a 7800GT or 7800GTX, and at least 1GB of ram, and at least a 160GB Hard Drive.

1000 on machine 500 on moniter speakers mouse keyboard
i'll try to find something for 1000 that is gaming orientated, wait, first, could u also include what else u want to do with it, like how big the hard drive should be, if u need a dvd burner, tv tuner ect. ect.

Well it will be for gaming and school work, I would like a cd burner but a dvd burner is not required and nither is a tv turner. Another thing is I believe I could find a mouse, keyboard, speakers, monitor, and possibly OS that I could use till I get more cash for them. I don't need high quality sound so yeah.

well, lets just say that u need 300 for moniter keyboard ect. ect.
that leaves:
cpu: $350
GPU: $350
hdd: $150
cd burner: $30
case: $80
ram: $150
mobo: $100

a bit of money to spare, i don't have time to newegg it.

amd x2 4000, ASUS Sli Motherboard, geforce 6800 video card, 1GB ram, 200GB western hard drive, now just get a cdrw/dvd thingy, a case, mouse/keyboard, and your set. Then when you get more money, the SLI motherboard lets you have 2 x Video cards, a pcgamer must.
