Default ATI Mobility 7500 - Counter-Strike FPS Drops?

Hey guys,

I seem to have a problem with my ATI Mobility 7500. FYI is has 32mb. I remember a while ago i used to get 90-100fps with it, but for some reason now it drops to 40-50! I have no indea why, and I've also updated all the drivers. Do you guys have any reason why it would be that low? I've tried overclocking it, but it didn't go as well as planned. Are there any websites you guys would recommend on how much i can overclock it too?

Also, I realize it is old, and i am playing on a laptop, but i dont ever recall it being this bad!

Would you happen to know any commands i can type into steam to increase my FPS?

Thanks for your interest, and reading my post. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Could be overheating, you check the temp at all when it drops that much?

well 40-50fps isnt that bad, but it could just be cause its getting old. i know as computers age, they do get a little slower. Have you dont a fresh re-install since you got 100fps? your comp could just be filled with junk and resource hoging files.

Ok, how the heck did you ever get 100fps with a 32 mb. vid card...... unless this is 1.6, I'm thinking of source.

Anyway, 40-50 isnt that bad, but yeah, i think that PCs slow down with age, cause all of mine have over a certain amount of time.

Yup, and it still didn't work. ... i was thinking maybe it was a different catalyst version that was giving me 100fps?

The settings were all the same when i was getting 100fps. I just recently tried overclocking it, and it didn't work. Currently they are back at the original settings.

Thanks everyone for your help. I guess its time to build a decent gaming pc for 1.6 (I know it probably wouldn't cost much, but im dead broke!)

You still didn't answer my question, what are the temps when it drops that much.
