Default create xp startup cd

Hi there

I have been looking all over the internet to find out if there is a cd version of the startup disks provided by microsoft, see link below

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...7-4FED408EA73F

This "startup disk" is actually made up of 6 floppy disks, which I find extremely annoying to execute on the pc, because is takes such a long time.

Had there been a bootable cd made of these disks, so that I can run the whole lot from one cd?

Thanks in advance

I think there is such a CD ... something along the lines of a Preinstallation Environment but im not sure. You can read more here: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system...wsPE_tech.mspx

I found the answer, your preinstallation enviroment was correct, but since winPE is not free, I went for Bart PE which is available at http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/
This allows me to boot into a very minimalistoc os, which run from ramdisk, and from here I can install windows

Thanks very much

Why don't you just boot from the XP CD?
