Default Open GL or Direct X for 3ds max 7

Hi I have a gigabyte ati radeon 9550 256 mb. I was wondering if which setting 3ds max 7 would run better on with the card i have. Open GL or Direct X?

In terms of what? Run better? If you mean rendering a scene, the CPU does all the rendering. Like calculations, basically.

Although I don't get what you meant by this. To me Direct X is the better pick I've always found Open GL to be really choppy.

3ds max doesnt realy even do the rendering for most people. I meant the live view port performance.

Well then it depends mostly on what graphics card you have. nVidia is better than ATi when it comes to OpenGL. I would just use DX.

DX can do alot more things and is the most popular of the two when it comes to graphics.
