i was wondering if anybody could help me out of a complicated mess.
somehow the files to my windows server 2003 operating system have gone missing i want to reinstall it but i don't know how. as soon as i try to start either one of the 2 windows server 2003 operating systems that i have installed on my computer it screws up. on one of them it comes up with the loading screen thing and then goes blank after a while and no keys do anything. sort of like it is frozen. when i try the other one it says that windows cannot start because the file <windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe any help would be wonderful and i would be very grateful. ![]() |

If you still have the operating system's original CD's, pop them in and boot from them. run the recovery console and it should fix any missing/corrupt files that you have. im thinking that's the problem with the second OS you were talking about.

thankyou for that. unfortunately i don't have the original cd
i only have the files from it and i don't know how to make them into a bootable disk like i read that i had to.but i am trying to track down another cd and when i do it should work. the reason i am using windows server 2003 is because it was all i had and also because i wanted a server operating system (i have tried running apache on xp but i had a problem) and i also wanted IIS. thanks once again ciao |
