Default making my internet faster

Hi, I have 2 computers in my household. There is the main family one which is hooked up to the internet, and my computer in my room hooked up to the internet via wirless router. I always play world of warcraft, and my latency is fine, but whenever some one goes on the family computer my latecny gets to 1500+ making eth game unplayable. Is there anyway to make my computer have most of the internet connection, so my computer goes faster, while the family one goes slower?
