What sound card do you have?

People dont buy sound cards because it helps out there cpu, they buy it because they sound much better and have more features. Thats like saying, "who need a video card when you can just use integrated."

Lol, oh man, I bought the X-Fi Xtreme Music card, the difference is incredible. And yes, I guess it helps out the speed too, and to me if i could scratch out 5% more speed somewhere, I'd do it without hesitation. So no matter how you look at it, a sound card to me is a must.

My old motherboard had great 7.1 onboard, but with my new one, I had to put my 5.1 SB live back in.
