Default USB not working

I posted in OS forum, but im not sure if thats the right one to post in. I cant seem to get my usb devices to work with my new computer which has XP Pro sp2. My usb devices work, and light up when connected, but when i try to install drivers some thing comes up to install some .dll file. wtf is going on?

are they the usbs directly connected to the mobo or are they connected through a pci slot???

on the mobo itself.

and this dll file....did u download it? and also, what drivers are u trying to install? the drivers for things u r plugging into the usb ports? got another comp u can try the equipment on?

may be your driver is corrupted and need to re-install.
try to install the driver of usb, it generally include in motherboard drive cd-rom.
