Default Need Help Choosing A Laptop... Fast

Hi, I was wondering if you could give me some advice.
I recently bought an Acer Aspire 3500 (description at http://www.acer.ca/acerpanam/page9.d...crc=2673072735) and I'm pretty disappointed with it. The download speed is super slow, and the internet doesn't run very well (only to name a few problems). I'm planning on returning it this week (Friday is the last day) and I was wondering if you could tell me which of the following computers is better to buy. I'm sorry to burden you with this but I'm very computer illiterate!

The couple of other computers I was looking at on the internet are

HP Pavilion zv6130us
(description at http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...01&hdwt=0&sp=3)

or

Compaq V2305
(description at http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...65&catid=20354)

i wish that someone would compare these for me, and offer me the best possible solution. i hope this is resolved by tomorrow otherwise i'm stuck with this crap ass computer!!!
thanks in advance to whoever replies~

The HP is better, obviously. An easy factor is mostly just looking at the price sometimes. About Internet cards, I'm pretty sure the HP's is slightly better than the compaq's. The HP has a bit better Processor, Bigger Hard Drive for more space (RPM still the same though). The HP has a much better CD Drive, so if you wanting to burn DVD's or just burn cd's a bit faster. The HP has a Athlon 64, which will support the new windows 64 bit if you want to get it, the bad part is the Athlon will use more battery and make it a bit hotter. The sempron doesnt support the 64bit windows, but it wont use as much battery and run a bit cooler.

hi apathetic thank you so much for replying.
all the numbers and drives etc are so foreign to me i have no idea what they mean. i mainly use the computer to browse the net, check email, download tons of torrents/mp3's, and play small games that don't require much unlike counter strike or anything like that (i mostly play net poker or yahtzee =P).
so you would recommend the hp?
how do you compare this to the acer; is it a good idea to return it?
again, thank you you've been a huge help.

Im not so familiar with internet cards myself, but yes, the HP internet card seems a little better than on the acer. You'd might run CS better on the HP also. You might get better internet with the HP, but I cant tell you exactly. Maybe wait for someone else or PM (private message) them.
Hope I helped

i would go for a bto laptop they are often very good deals, usually better than the acer's and toshiba's e.t.c but from what i have seen dell and samsung seem to be some of the best reputable brands around. i prefer the hp

for gaming look into a dell, toshiba, or alienware the latter being the most expensive.
