New hard drive, install xp?

Hi, I have a emachine (ya I know) and I was wondering if I got a new hard drive I could use emachines reinstall disk on the new hard drive? It says it only works with emachine computers. And then could I stick the hard drive in another machine and it still work?

I feel you didnt understande the question, it was a little confusing.

I have an emachine t2824 and it came with a windows reinstall disk, but the disk only works with emachine computers. If I where to take out the old 40gig drive and replace it with a 120gig one would I be able to install windows xp on the new 120gig one with the reinstall disk?
