Default Installing friends copy of XP?

Would I be able to use my friends serial code to install XP just to my computer? Am I correct in thinking that I would only need my own key to activate XP online?

To register it... Which means no MS internet updates (new).. Yes it will work fine without the registration...

you may even be able to use ur friends cd-key, since i installed xp home on 2 comps without any problem, and did an activation.

I think you would still be able to get updates because that genuin advantage thing on windows update doesn't work right cause I heard in another forum that some guy passed it with linux

how could you bypass microsoft genuine advatage with linux? and second, what could that do for you? its not like you can install microsoft updates on linux, lol
