Default Ahem.

Try this.

Do some research, decide on some parts, then come ask what we think of the configuration you came up with.

I also need some help with this question, about a pc with similar specs. Any help would be appreciated. I can find bits and stuff that I want, but I don't know if it is all compatible. So if anyone could recommend me a line up of components that will all work together, I'd appreciate that too.

For a gaming pc you should really consider a AMD athlon 64,they will chew through any game really. For a 128mb graphics card, choose from either a 6600gt or 6800gt as both gpu's offer good gaming results.
Hope this post helped

Ah yes indeed.
CPU-AMD athlon 64 3200+ or 3500+ in socket 939 format (oh and a venice core,they are sweet)

MOBO-Gigabyte k8ns-939 (pci express version)

GPU card-128mb Nvidia 6600GT
-or if you have the money,a 6800GT or even a 7800 gtx
-make sure the card is pci express supported.

HDD-for budget,go with a western digital caviar 800JB-00JJC0(model number)
-for high speed high performance,go with a wd raptor drives in a raid 0 setup.

RAM-Get at least 1gig for gaming,or 512 for office apps.

Thats a really basic guide but i hope it helps

Here is a $800 build if your willing to go alittle over.

Athlon 64 3200+ $190
Chaintech Nforce 4/ultra motherboard $81
Corsair 1gb kit $81.90
Western Digital 80gb hard drive $56.90
Liteon combo drive $36.50
Floppy drive $10.40
Geforce 6800GT $289

Thats about $745 but it does not have a case. It will be able to play almost anything with high graphics and with little or no lag. I know its not with your 150GB drive but thats really the best I could do without going over.
