From PC2100 DDr to PC2700 DDR Upgrade

Hi, i have only 228MB of memory in my system. I wants to upgrade to 1024MB. Apparently required a PC2300 DDR, and I wants to update the same. However a comp tech in my job suggest me that instead aDDR DIMM PC2300,
I should install a PC2700 DDR DIMM.

He said gave more speed!

I never hear anything like that before. Is he correct?

I bougth my system a year ago in C City, It is a Northgate (dont ask me who is the manufacturer because I do not know.)

SO Windows XP Home Srv.Pack 2

According with InSpecs on line upgrade config I have Apacer DDR Dimm PC2300

I want to upgarded ASAP, but I need to be sure.
