Default boot failure

I just god a nice little scare, but It is now ok, thank god

anyway, here is what happened:

after trying to open a video file (which I had opened before without problem) I got the shocking blue screen (laster less than a second so I didn't catch the code) and my computer restarted, after that my computer wouldn't boot and gave me the message that there is a boot disk failure and that I should insert a hard disk and press enter.

I used the restart button a couple of times and it was same.

then I turned the computer off, waited for a minute and turned it back on, it was ok now.

I've had blue screens before but they were always software based (would be gone in the next installation of XP) and I never had this message (boot failure)

Should I be alarmed by this and backup my entire disk and prepare for worst (complete disk failure) or is this just a glitch that may never happen again?

Always back stuff up, it would be bad to loose it right? Anyway it could have been many things, but be cautious.

On a recent startup the computer checked the disk for errors and repaired them (that was day after this boot failure problem) before windows started

hopefully that was it
