Default HDD swap?

lets say i get an acer or averatec thin and light laptop like i want, can i switch out it's hard drive with my dell I9300's? how hard would this be?

you can do it just make sure it is compatible and it shouldnt be to hard to switch out the harddrives

your most likely going to have to format the hd to get it to work in the different comp....just so u know.

dang, that would ruin part of the perpose of doing this.....oh i forgot...the different drivers....couldn't i just like copy all the drivers from one and put it on the other?

well how much did u need to transfer? could u just put it on cd and transfer it over like that?

no, i'm gunna have it pretty full with videos and music.......also a few programs and some games......farcry took forever to install.....

If the comp has xp you will not be able to swap and have it work. Unless you reformat and reinstall windows.

farcry....great game. well u can always put it in and see if u can get it too read. i didnt say it def wouldnt read, i said it probably wont. ive had both situations myself....where it plugged right in and where i had to format it, so its worth a shot.

it is quite easy to remove the harddrive. however you might have to modify the front of it to get it to fit right.
