Default Hard drive fan?

hello
Im soon gonna get a new harddrive
my last one died
Does HD fans will it extends hard drive life?
and my maxtor didnt last long...
what brand should i choose?

I like Maxtor drives... I've had an 80 GB Maxtor for like 5 years now... its been a very good reliable drive.. As far as a HDD fan... thats up to you, personally, as long as your case has good airflow, I don't know if it makes a difference.

I don't think it makes a difference either. I have Hitachi and it works flawlessly, that's what I always use, and they usually have the best specs.

i like Maxtor also, the only brand that i've worked with that i havent liked was a Seagate. And hard drives dont get too hot, so a decent cooling system on the case will keep it cool.

I have a seagate hd and i have had no probs with it. I have it running in a cool drive 3 and its great. no necessary for the cooling of it, as they run pretty cool anyway, i just got it cuz it went well with the computer. anyway, seagate is good, i personally would not recommend western digital, but this is from personal experience. Maxtor i would also recommend.

i already broke 2 maxtor.... so i was only wondering if there was another better brand...
My last maxtor lasted 2 years and had 1 year warrenty :S
it sucked...
So HD fans don't really help?
i only have one fan on mycomp... si do you think its better to get one?
