Default Backup Storage Option

Hello all, i am looking for an easy storage option for a network. Currently i have an external USB Hard drive connected to a network hub (linksys NSLU2) The transfer rate is WAY to slow for me. I have about 30gigs i need to back up once a week. Im looking at 2 options. A. create a dedacated backup computer with a second drive as my backup, (i have done this way for a little while not on a non dedicated computer because the USb is to slow) The speed im real satasfied with, takes a little under 3 hours. The other option im looking at instead of spending the 500 on a computer is to get a linksys EFG120 (the network storage) which connects direct eathernet to my network. However i have read ok reviews on this method.

I need some sugestions/opinions on both methods or another alternative im not thinking about?

thanks in advance
