Before i appraise anything, you know that the lowest clocked AthlonXP is the AthlonXP 1500 which is clocked at 1.33GHz .. so i'd look into why this comp is coming as 1.1Ghz

(also note that the K7 platform which the system conforms to... is obsolete and discontinued)

K7 is the socket for which the motherboard and processor are, or something along those lines.

have a look in the manual about jumpers, and see if there is one about clock speeds

I can say for an absolute fact your machine is running at a lower clockspeed than its supposed to (which is probably a good thing for you). The lowest Barton class processor that I'm aware of is the AthlonXP 2500+ AXDA2500DKV4D] which runs at 1.83Ghz (166x11). Since you're running at essentially 1.1Ghz I'm guessing for some reason or other, your core clock has been set to 100x11 (so if you're selling the machine because its too slow for you, note that you can goto BIOS, click here and there and it'll run faster i.e., at the speed it was supposed to run at).

Now for an apprasial of sorts: from an "impression" I'd say your machine isnt worth more than 500USD. The breakdown would be as follows:
- AMD AthlonXP 2500 [75USD]
- ASUS A7N8X [75USD]
- RAM [75] ... what are the specs of the ram here? (i.e., whats the speed and how many sticks)
- 6600GT [130USD]
- 80GB HDD [50USD]
- Optical Drive [30USD]
- Monitor [40USD]
Subtotal = 475

that's very frustrating, my computer was "configured and optimized" by somebody who i thought was a professional, and only now do i hear that i've been bottlenecking it all this time? well, ive actually never had anything to complain about in regards to performance so i guess it doesn't really matter.

and i'm glad to hear that your estimation of 475 matches up very closely to my complete guess of $500

i'm actually not selling it for any reason other than i need the money
well, thanks for your help Praetor

Glad I could help ... if you're really trying to squeeze as much money as you can out of a given sale, you'd be surprised how many people are taken away by a few bling bling lights ... you'd be quite surprised by how much you might be able to jack the price by
