I think that the off-topic section should be closed, at least until people learn that this is a computer forum.

Yeah but have you noticed what percentage of the posting is in that section? And how many people post just in the off topic? Those are the people that need to be gotten rid of.

yea i tottalyly agree its a computer forum not a place to advertise your shoes,

how about if it was remaned, dont know what to but anything apart from off topic chat, as people start taking advantage of it, saying we can talk about how long we can hold our breath as its "off the topic" of computers,

I have noticed lately thought that there has been some pretty stupid threads so this nice little resurection will be a reminder to everyone you makes shoe threads.

But can i ask....just what problem are these threads causing? What issue are these people posting in off topic creating?

Is it a problem with hosting space?

If a topic is stupid then ignore it...it will take a matter of a few hours before its relegated to the bottom of the page and will dissappear off it altogether within a day...no harm done.

The real issue at some points in this forum is people with limited or no knowledge in a field trying to answer peoples questions with what is ultimately the wrong answer.

Its not hugely regular but it does happen. These people know who they are..if your not sure about something then dont answer the post..simple.

I do my best to keep out of any topic that i know i have no clue about..hence why i am rarely seen in the areas of software or general internet problems...they just aint my forte.

Stop moaning about this "crap thread" stuff, just ignore it and it dissapears...or a mod can delete it..simple really
