I have heard good reviews, although I'm not sure if it being that precise (a laser!) has any effect on everyday computing or casual gaming. Have you found a great difference?

Hmm...I know that that mouse is great. However, definitely not the best for gaming. The MX518 or something like that is better. The sensor of the MX1000 is superior without a doubt but the mouse is rather heavy for a gamimg mouse. Otherwise a great mouse.
