Default Power Supply Bottlenecking My System?

Ok, quick question,

I currently have the stock power supply that comes with the NZXT Nemesis ATX case (400W) with both 120mm fans running on full speed. These are my system specs:

P4 3.4 GHZ
ATI X800 PRO
TWO 80 GIG SATA MAXTORS ON RAID 0
1 GIG GEIL DUAL CHANNEL DDR2 533 MHZ RAM
SOUND BLASTER AUDIGY ZS2 LIMITED GAMER EDITION
INTEL D915PBL MOBO
19" VIEWSONIC E90FMB
LOGITECH MX 518
GENERIC DELL KEYBOARD

When I play games that should easily run with great fps with my system (UT2k4, CS:S), they get poor framerates (down to 40 fps with 1024x768, all settings on normal for UT). Same with CS:S and HL2, I keep everything on "settings recommended for your system" and it goes down to 30 FPS at times. (DoD:S will run on 40 fps at best with recommeneded settings.)

I am not positive, but I believe that my power supply is not giving my system enough juice to run this power hungry system.

Can someone please tell me if they agree, and if so, what power supply I should purchase?

Welcome to the forum.

Well the PSU definetley is definetley a limiting factor with that system with only 17A on the +12v. Take a look at PSU101 for some good suggestions:

i would seriosuly look into getting a new psu, and in the mean time, disconect anything that you dont really need, like extra PCI cards, or dvd drive, ect.
