Default Notebook GPU

I have never known too much about Notebooks. I was just wondering, could someone give me a list of what are the best GPU for a Notebook. Like the best one, second best, third best. Preferably ATI as well. Thanks.

Edit: Actually, could I have a list of Nvidia GPUs as well. Thanks.

its hard to say whats better then one another in terms of ati vs nvidia, but a good gpu would be the GeForce Go 6800/6800Ultra, or the ati x800 mobility. A decent gpu would be the GeForce Go 6600, or x600, or 9800.

would be a decent gpu, not the greatest out there, but it really depends on what games you want to play.

Would it be able to handle say Half-Life 2 on medium settings? That is with 1024 MB of RAM too.

well, my 9600xt can handle it on high settings, but im not sure on the differences in terms of speed with laptop gpus, but it would probably be able to handle it on medium settings, what are the other specs of the laptop?, since that would make a difference also.

i have that video card and it plays best on low settings. however since its such a demanding game even the best laptop gpu's have a hard time pulling a constant 100 fps. some top video cards out right now is georce go 7800 gtx, geforce go 6800 ultra, geforce go 6800, geforce go 6600, ati x800 mobility, x700 mobility, x600 mobility.

it'll handle it on high settings but not well. try throwing some smokes or playing on a servers with many people and watch your fps

the 9700 mobility specs are basically the in-between of 9600 and 9600xt. i would look into a geforce go 6xxx series or the x600 or above.
