My Start icon has moved from the L lower corner into the upper R corner
(and with a bunch of other icons now into the R section). I had lost my address bar, but I could see it down at the bottom, so I was trying to move the lower dividing line upward - then everything went over to the R side. How do I get it back the way it was? Thanks |

u should just be able to drag the whole thing back to the bottom of the screen. but first, right click the taskbar and make sure "lock task bar" is not checked. then go ahead and move it.

if u right click the blue task bar, a small menu pops up. one of the options on this menu is lock the taskbar. second option from the bottom of the menu.

there doesn't seem to be a blue task bar (normally there would be a task bar at the bottom)
instead there is a grey R hand section - this is where the Start icon is located in the upper R corner when I R-click on that grey section, the menu says "Toolbar, Cascade Windows, Tile Windows, Minimize all Windows, and Properties" I checked "Properties" - TaskBar properties - and Taskbar Options and this menu offers: Always on Top, Auto Hide, Show small icons in Start Menu, or Show Clock There must be somewhere else to find the answer |

If you are using Windows XP then you will see the "lock the taskbar".. but in Windows 2000 and earlier you will not see that.
Also 2000 and earlier the taskbar is gray which is what Robin sees. Are you unable to drag the entire taskbar to the bottom?

it's Windows 98
the grey section on the right (with the Start icon in the upper R corner) - I can move the vertical dividing line to the left or right, but exactly what do I need to do to drag the section back down to the bottom? |
