Default pc good for both gaming and work, intel or amd?

Hi, I was wondering what is a good computer that is good for both computer gaming and work. I got to the point where i know that Pentium is good for work, and AMD is good for gaming, I was wondering if witch one is good for Gaming and Work? I think its better to have a computer like that instead of 2 computers, too much money. I have saved enough money to buy a good computer around $300-500, $600 max.

Witch comp would be good for gaming and work and also with a good price?

but a 7200k RPM harddrive with like, 120-160 gigs, 30 gigs doesnt go very far and isnt worth it for the money

Numero 2. AMD 64's are the best processors out there for gaming. Also, the 3000+ is one of their best (in terms of OC'ing) However, I would try and get 1 GB of RAM.

the 6 one. AMD doesnt power through stuff like intels proc's do. Well, at least thats what I think. But AMD is better for gaming and they arent that bad for work. So either the 2nd one or the 6th.

If youwant the best get a AMDX2 i would prabalally say, but sersoisly though you won't notice that much of a differnce is most things with any of the higher end CPU's.

belive it or not i would go for the
AMD Sempron 2600 Processor 462 Pin
1024MB DDR400 PC3200 Memory (Infineon / Apacer / Hynix) (512MB x 2)
ASRock K7S41GX mother board
Western Digital Raptor 36.7GB 10,000RPM Serial ATA 8MB
LG 52X32X52 CD-RW
ATI Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro, AGP 8X, 256MB DDR, DVI, TV-Out
Onboard Audio
Onboard Network Card
Standard ATX Case
400 Watt Power Supply

out of those choices, because it is fairly cheaper, and has 1G of ram. I wouldn't get any of the Celeron's, they dont work well, and the rest are 512MB's of ramm or much more money.

/i would try and get one of the nicer INTEL's like some of them on your list, but with 1G of RAM, or a Althon with 1G of ram.

IMO i think the first would run better, It would be alot better if that was a socket 765 Sempron though, but still they dont run that much worse then a athlon

the best value would be the AMD Sempron, the best performance would be the Athlon 64, since celerons arnt good at all for gaming, and is only good for basic work. I would go with number 2, but try and get 1GB of ram.

And what type of work will you be doing? if you mean programs like CAD, Photoshop, Audition, Premiere Pro, ect, i would go with a Pentium 4, but if your work is just word processing, spreadsheets, some light apps, ect, i would go with either the sempron or ahtlon 64.

i would say number 2, but that 9250 will slow you down in gaming, get a 9600pro or XT don't buy SE version, they are real crap not recommended for gaming, and about ram, it's enough for now, for both gaming and work, but you'll have to upgrade to 1 gig eventually, the cpu is great i heard that it could be oc'ed to the same performace as fx-55.

this is a perfect card for your needs: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102510

thats the same exact card i have, i find it to be an excellent card for gaming, it plays halo @ max and HL2 @ high. And at only $80, its a killer deal.
