Default Sata Hard Drive Setup

I hope somebody can help me.

I have just built a new computer, there is two hard drives installed if i go into my computer i only see one drive which is c but on the device manager i can see two hard disks.

Both hard drives are the same make ,size and model

Mobo Board : MSI K8N NEO4
AMD 64 3200
TWO 512MB MEMORY
TWO MAXTOR 200GIB HARD DRIVE SATA CONNECTION
Windows xp

What i want to do is have one with the operating system on it and the other just too store files, or possible later install a different operating system and have a dual boot option.

I hope someone can help me out ,

Cheers

go see if it shows up for a format. Go start, settings, control panels, administrative tools, computer management, and storage "disk managment" If you see your other dirve in there right click on it and format it.. Easy huh. (winxp)

Sorry i didn,t mean too sound stupid, it was just the fact that it was showing the same storage as my main c drive.
With some of the stuff i have read i thought i might have set it up as raid 1 configuration (where one hard drive copyies the files in the other one as a back up)
