Default About this combo..

I recently purchased a computer from the local comp store.

They gave me this mobo-cpu combo.
Abit kv8pro 64bit mainboard
and a
AMD Athlon XP 3200+

I'm guessing the processor isn't 64bit, so there really is no need to have the 64bit motherboard. True or false?

And also what do you think about this combination.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, as you'll realize, when you goto plug the CPU into the mobo ... it simply wont fit. Your CPU has 462 pins, the mobo has 939....not gonna happen

It depends on the size of the hammer you're using to insert it.

The problem isnt inserting it as 462 < 939 but naturally the system wont power up.

As far as I know, the 939 pin socket has the pins are lined up, the 462's pins are interleaved. So you can't even insert the cpu in it...
