Default which cpu better for me?

i dont play much games but i do use solidworks (like CAD program) so its important that that runs smoothly. it ran fine on my old 900mhz AMD system just a lil low on memory sometimes. i found an AMD sempron2300 system for $280 and a celeron 2.0 for $300. if im not mistaken the 2300 is like about a 1.5Ghz cpu???? please advise me

I dont know which would be better specificaly for the program, but over all I would have to say IMO a Sempron is better then any of the three Celerons i have had in the past, They run, "choppy",but maybe in your case it would be better,I'm not totaly positice, wait for more responsews to make your final choice.

go for sempron, it runs at 1.58GHz, has 166MHz FSB, 256KB L2 cache, and even the lower frequency then celeron it is much faster, dont' buy celeron

its just that i read that AMD is better for gaming where as intel is better for work. and since both are entry level systems.... i dunno
anyways the AMD seems to be the way to go

ok i ordered up the sempron. i got a good deal by giving them my old comp and theyre gonna replace the psu, mothaboard, pcu n RAM (cause i had sdram in my olod one) n keep the cdrom, video etc.

thing is they said they wont install the hardware. i assume its just the motherboard. so how do i do that? i assume i just put in the install disk, boot up n it'll be step by step from there

Do you mean they won't install the software? Or do you actaully need to physically secure the motherboard inside the case?
