Default optical drive pick

what i am looking for is a CD reader and writer and DVD reader and writer all in one drive. i found this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827152053 . what is DVD +/- R ?

DVD+R and DVD-R are two types of DVD recording format.
A DVD+/-R drive would mean that the drive is capable of recording in either format.

for data storage i should use +R and for movies use -R? but to save me the cost of buying 2 differenets spools i could just go with one? i will be burning movies and data.

You always had that option of just going with one For now, it doesnt matter all that much although personally i have a preference for -R

Best to buy an all in one optical media drive, dvd ram compatible.
