Will this cheap computer do good for internet surfing and is it upgradable in the future?

Yeah that would be fine for internet surfing, but the upgradability issue is a different story. Since it's a pretty old model, you won't be able to upgrade to anything good in today's standards. I'm guessing you might be able to fit a gig of ram in there, but not much of a better processor.

it will be fine, and as AMD64 said, you can upgrade the ram to 512mb or possibly 1gb. You will probably need a bigger hard drive, since 10GB is hardly anything, and XP takes up about 5gb. they are pretty cheap and it will work in your computer, as long as its IDE.

The machine is sufficient for your tasks... but overpriced.

Plus, I've always made it a policy of mine to stay away from Dell. However that becomes difficult now since at my job that's all they use!

For internet surfing sure, but for gaming, hell no.
