iTunes has a bigger song collection and is more convenient since you can keep the songs even if you unsubscribe; unlike Napster

if your looking for free songs (small collection) check out www.mp3spy.ru you can stream for free or buy each song for something like 5 cents.
I download the stream preview and record it with QuickTime and convert it into another format.

os dragon, you don't need to have an iPod to play the songs downloaded from iTunes. You can listen to them on anything that plays .m4a files or just burn them to a cd. The only problem with the files is that I think they can only be on played on five different computers.

oh and i would have to go with iTunes because i not into that subscription mess; i'd rather own the songs that i purchase rather than rent them.
