Default WTB: Laptop <$600

Im looking for a laptop that costs under $600, if your selling one or know of one, please post here.

Preferably i'd like a sempron, pentium 4/m, or athlon 64.
at least 256MB ram, at least 512mb upgradable
would like a ati/nvidia card, but would settle for integrated
dvd-rom or better

i dont really care about an OS since i already have XP Home.

I have a couple, Dell Latitude c610 is P3 750mhz, 256mb ram, 10gb hard drive, 8x dvd, 2 new batteries, docking station and /monitor stand, 2 ac adapters, brand new nylon dell deluxe carry case, manuals, windows xp pro with cd/book, 14.1" lcd screen, new dell optical mouse/mousepad, floppy drive with external cable. $500 obo... also have a c600 650mhz p3 that only has 128mb ram, 6gb hard drive, rest of specs are the same $350 obo.

Next lowest P4 i have is the smaller version of the Latitudes, same size as a P3 version, a C640, its a 2.0ghz Pentium 4m, 256mb ram, 40gb hard drive, 14.1" lcd screen, 8x dvd, 2 new batteries, docking station and /monitor stand, 2 ac adapters, brand new nylon dell deluxe carry case, manuals, windows xp pro with cd/book, 14.1" lcd screen, new dell optical mouse/mousepad, floppy drive with external cable. $750 obo

I have more expensive ones too though. All are in like new or mint condition with low usage. Can email pictures if youd like. Screens have no defects, marks, scratches etc, some have minor almost unoticeable scratches on bottom where they would slide into a docking station.

That Acer from Newegg looks pretty decent for the price. If you got that Geoff then you should look into upgrading the RAM to 512mb so you can actually do some work on there.

I have a Compaq Presario 2100 (2182US) F/S. It has the same specs as this , except it has 512mb ram and comes with a carrying case and brand new replacement keyboard (the one currently installed is missing the enter key shell). I also have the same SMC wireless card for it.

LMK if you're interested. I have over 40 feedback on ebay, plus over 40 more from other various trade sites.

edit: It also includes windows xp home and all the needed install discs, plus the manual etc.

don't expect a sempron to get much battery life. i would go with the turion or the pentium M. pentium M should get a little battery life with a 25 watt thermal design and the tuion with a 35 watt. but for $600 you probably won't get a dedicated graphics card.

its not just because its a sempron, other sempron based cpu's with better batteries get around 3 hours of life, for example, hp with its 12-cell battery vs this with a 4-cell.

But i dont have any money for a laptop right now, so im going to have to wait a little while.

well it is because it is a sempron. sempron alone do not get very good battery life whether or not you factor in 12 cell battery. i could get pretty good battery life with a 24 cell on a pentium 4 as well.
