Default DVD-WR Tray problem

Once upon a time I opened my Lite-On DVD-WR LDW-851S disk tray and as I was putting a CD in suddenly it closed and the CD was half sticking out of the tray which was stuck midway (not noticing I had pressed the Eject button twice.) Ever since whenever I open the disk tray it automatically emediately closes, I have to grab the tray and hold it when it opens to insert the disk and then let go. Why is this?

I've tried removing the cables, and re-plugging it in, by the way I opened the disk tray about 100-150 times and I noticed that after that procedure it doesn't always automatically close; it automatically closes about 3/5 times, still dangerous though, might catch a finger or something, I even told a technician about it and he looked at me like I was mad.

first off, it doesnt hurt to have it close with your finger in it, i;ve done it many times . Anyhow, i dount think unplugging anything will make it better, its probably a malfunction inside the drive thats making it close right away. Unless your good at mechanical parts, i dont think there is a way for you to fix it.

Well I can still use the LG Dual or hold the Lite-on with my finger while inserting the disk, so problem circumvented.

Well if you want to fix it ... open the drive up, disasseble the tray housing and reassemble it Sounds like the wind-up-thingy is a bit off ... should be a 10 minute fix
