MY Dell XPS computer (3.6GHz, 320HD(2x160), 1Gb ram, 256Mb Nividia Graphics card) has been sick for awhile now and I can't seem to get the problem solved. I've spent countless hours on the phone with the tech support guys from India. I re-formatted the drives and re-configured the raid and completely re-installed the Operating system (Windows XP Pro). But after I load my Norton Internet Security 2005 and then my DSL (SBC Yahoo) and go and get the updates form Norton, then restart the computer (as instructed to do) the computer goes to the blue screen of DEATH!!!! It has been going on for the last 2 1/2 months! I'm ready to give up! Are there any known conflicts with Norton and SBC Yahoo DSL?? Anything else that could be causing these problems? My girlfriends computer has similar problems, only in that her's won't connect to the net with Norton running. Disable Norton and it works fine! Any help would be greatly appreciated! OH, I'm definitely not a computer geek, so I need answers in easy to understand terms! LOL LOL If you notice the screen name, it should help explain why!! LOL

NORTON SUCKS! I would imagine it is a problem with norton if your both having the problem.
They way i see it you have 3 options: 1:Just dont install norton. Boot into safe mode F8 at startup and remove norton. 2:Use a router which is always connected to the internet, thus taking the SBC software from your computer... 3:Use the winxp software for connecting to the internet (you dont really need to use SBC crap software).. Email me if you need specific instructions for any of this tightend_33@yahoo.com

I use to have sbc and I ran norton2005 with no problems and my mom still uses sbc with norton with no problems! Something is causing a conflict with yours maybe another program you are running I dont know but this is what I would suggest doing for now, reinstall operating system and download this http://www.avast.com/ it is a free antivirus that does a pretty good job and that will allow you to be protected while you are on the internet for now! Then try contacting symantec and see if they can help you figure out why their software will not run on your pc if you realy want norton that is! If you want a good antivirus and you dont mind spending alittle money on one I would purchase nod32 it's top notch other wise you could stick with avast, for free it cant be beat!

While i dont like their pretty consumer end stuff, their enterprise stuff is fairly solid.
