Default Little Sound Cable???

Do i need to put the little sound cable in that came with my cd drive or not, the tv card that i have has one too, do i need them or does it all go thru IDE/ PCI respectivly

you dont need to plug it in.
im not shure what its for, but this is my 3rd pc that runs without that cable

yeah me too, i just unpluged and run without it, makes no difference

i think its so you can plug your headphones into the cd drive to listen to music, but i never hook it up either.

You dont need that cable, the cable is there for lagacy audio data (although there may be a neato use in modern applications) .. for the most part, audio data is transmitted via the IDE cable If you do want to make use of that cable, plug it in ... and you'll be able to use the drive as a music station before the drivers are loaded (i.e., hardware level audio player)
