dell, ram ????

i currently own a dell computer with 256 mb of ram. i wanted to know if the memory i can use is dell-specific or if i can choose any company such as kingston.

you can use any kind of ram for a company just make sure that if your computer uses ddr2 than get that or if it uses ddr get that

how old is this dell? cause some dells, mainly old ones, use rdram.

oh ya i forgot about the rd ram which is really expensive my dads dell 8200 uses rd ram what model do you have

then you can buy the ddr ram you want from any company that makes it just make sure you dont buy cheap ram like 20 dollars spend like 80 or more for good quality ram
