1. Are you comfortable with reinstalling an OS? (i dont know, might be worth a shot)
2. Try this:
  1. Enter BIOS
  2. Advanced Menu
  3. Select "Chipset"
  4. Set "MemClock Mode" to "Manual"
  5. Set "MemClock Value" to "333" (also note the value that showed up originally)

Also, something worth trying ... grab RivaTuner and have it log the temperaturs .... to rule out possibility of the card throttling itself due to overheating

No i'm not comfortable with reinstalling the OS, I did it 2 months ago. I'll do it as a last resort though.

Ok. Changed Memclock Value to 333 MHZ. It was originally 200 MHZ.

And the RivaTuner link doesn't work :S

Nevermind, went to their homepage and Downloaded it from there.

Ok, well I've been testing the difference and it is indeed better ..but it's still not the best I would expect.

1. Sorry about the link, its fixed now

2. In rivatuner, there is the option to record temperatures and stuff (see the picture) ... you mind starting the recording ... run through a game for 5-10 minutes (preferably a stressful game) and then posting the HML file that's saved? (you may have to rename the file to .TXT in order to attatch it here)

3. Fire up CPUz and on the tab titled "Memory", what are the values in the boxes labeled "Frequency" and "FSB : DRAM"?

Here you go..

I played B&W2 for about 5 minutes, I have to add it wasn't that enjoyable =(

Frequency: 157.9 MHz
FSB: DRAM: CPU 1/4

EDIT: Fixed.

I can say that your card isnt overheating or downthrottling ... so there goes that hypothesis (i assume you let the hardware monitoring run while you played B&W2)

Quote:
Frequency: 157.9 MHz
FSB: DRAM: CPU 1/4
If there is no typo here then that would suggest that your CPU is running at <700Mhz.... which would also suggest that you have Cool'n'Quiet enabled? (i was expecting your divider to be something like ... im guessing it was 1/14? Cuz that would be the correct divider.

I'll be frank with you ... other than your memory operating in "non-deal" conditions, you've got me perplexed... but i wont give up yet

Now I do have a suggestion to try ...
1. Remove the memory stick in DIMM2 (it's the Kingston stick ... the one that is PC2700)
2. Repeat what i suggested here but set it to 400
3. The value you posted here should now say Frequency = 200, FSB-DRAM = CPU/11

Now if that works as i hope/expect then we can move on (yes without that 512MB stick of RAM .. for now at least)

1. Use the program FRAPS to record you FPS in b&W2
http://www2.fraps.com/FRAPS264.EXE

2. Download 3dmark and run all the test and tell me all your scores.
http://www.futuremark.com/download/?3dmark05.shtml
Also hit detail in 3dmark and give me a copy of the page that is display with all your computer information and video card information.

I will start with those to things before I offer further diagnoses then that already given.

Yes, I did. I started off from the desktop, then opened up B&W2 and loaded from where I was playing.[/quote]

No, I don't think I have Cool'n'Quiet enabled.

Another mistake it was CPU/14

Ok, I removed the Kingston stick and changed the Memclock Value to 400.

But the Frequency is still 157.9 MHZ and the FSB-DRAM is still CPU/14

I'm positive I removed the correct one, here's the registry dump to confirm:

Code:

I had fraps running when I did the previous test. Not recording just showing the FPS. It was an average of 7.

I'll do this later. I have things running that I can't stop ATM, so it would probably interfere.

Ok, I did the 3DMark05 test.

Result Details:

Game tests 3dMark Score: 4874

GT1 - Return to proxycon - 22.2fps
GT2 - Firefly Forest - 14.4fps
GT3 - Canyon Fly - 23.2fps

CPU tests CPU Score: 3233

CPU Test 1 - 1.6fps
CPU Test 2 - 2.9fps

I can't upload the System Info because it's a .xml extention, and it's 80kb

EDIT: ok i've uploaded the whole systeminfo folder into a .rar, to filefront.

Link: http://files.filefront.com/systeminf.../fileinfo.html

I don't want to leave it up there for long so tell me when you've DLed it so I can take it down.

Can you try
  1. Enter BIOS
  2. Advanced Menu
  3. Select "Chipset"
  4. Set "MemClock Mode" to "Auto"
And check the FSB-DRAM ratio again? (if it doesnt change anything go back and set it to 400 again)

From your 3dmark stuff, they seem to fall in line with expected values ... do you have any other games u can use to test? (say UT2004? doom3? splintercell? farcry etc?)

Here is a bios update for your board

There may be updated drivers here

Lionhead studios has also released the 1.1 Update
