Post dual channel vs. single channel memory

someone told me about dual channel memory they said its alot faster i was just wondering if it would be worth it to get it if im only going to be burning cds dvds surfing the internet and school stuff what i have now is 1gb of single channel would 1gb of dual channel be better for me. will i notice a difference

wont make a differnce for what you are doing dont waste your money. single channel will be fast enough

Have a look at RAM 101 but yeah, odds are you might notice a performance jump from 'more ram in singlechannel mode' vs 'less RAM in dual channel mode'

Just stay with what you have and save your money. There will be no real proformance gain for you.
