Default I think I screwed up pretty bad :(

I got Firefox to get bugged and slow, and decided to restart it, and therefor closed everything (when it was very slow). Then I tried to start it again, and when I did, I got this box asking me to select a profile. I selected default, but when I clicked the ok button, it said the profile was already in use. Now, instead of just restarting the computer, I made a new profile, thinking I could probably get the default profile back. But then I figured out I couldn't.
Is there a way, or are all my precious links and bookmarks gone for good?

Edit: For the record, I've already tried shutting down all firefox thingies in task manager. Didn't help.

I noticed Mozilla (the browser) has a profile manager. It looks just like the box I got, but can't find anything similar in Firefox.

I dont know how to get it back but ehres how to stop it from happening in the future.

When you try and start it and it comes up with the box to select or make a new profile, then click CANCEL, then press ctrl- alt- delte, and then find firefox.exe, and click END PROCCESS and then once its closed start firefox again and it will work, sometimes it malfunctiosn and sort of starys running in the backround somehow and firefox wont let you start the same profi;le two at once so thats why the box comes up.

Drive:\Documents and Settings\username\ApplicationData\Mozilla\Firefox\ Profiles
there should be 2 profiles. look in them and look at bookmarks.html. if its got all your bookmarks in, go back to the folder that has both profiles in, and delete the other profile

PS. you need to be able to see hidden files for this
