Enter login password for windws 2000

Hi there,

I would like to know whether how I can know the password to type in at the login username, so that I can get access to the computer if I am using Windows 2000, and I have forgotten my password. The OS says only administrator can do that.

1. Ask the admin
2. Extract it from C:\Windows\System32\Config\SAM and break it

Can windows 2000 get into safe mode or dos mode, so that you can get into dos OS and get into the directory you mentioned?

search for an iso on the internet called 'ERD_COMMANDER' it will allow you to boot from the disc and reset the administrator password.

erdcommander is the right stuff like dave said. it displays all recordet and installed users + the password functions.

Safe mode wont work. You will need to use the recovery console (i.e. boot off a disc)
