If I download a program that installs spyware on my computer, could I use system restore and restore everything to the day before the spyware was downloaded? I am asking because I had to use system restore today and I noticed that a program that I downloaded today was gone, so would it also work for spyware?

As far as i know, System Restore will enable you to restore your pc to a previous state, but the problem might still be somewhere on there. A friend of mine got a pretty vicious virus that started killing his pc slowly. He did the whole System Restore thing and then its was OK. When he checked with his anti-virus, the actual virus itself was still on there.
