Do you think the vid card is a little too much for the rest of the PC? I'm having trouble finding a vid card better than the other one, but not so expensive...

yeah thats definitely not a gaming motherboard.. like i mean, it'll work, but you'll prolly enjoy the nf4ultra a lot more.

I've made some adjustments, trying to keep speed and gaming balanced.

Case
(would you still suggest getting a better PSU with it?)

And the rest of the build:

Good choice on the GTO, I've heard it can be unlocked to a x850.
Again though I would change the mobo, try to stick with nforce 4 for gaming.
And if your not doing major overclocking the stock thermal paste will do fine.

Well the specs on the PSU arent listed so i cant comment but as a general principle, if the specs arent even listed.... its prolly not worth all that much

You almost definitively heard wrong. The X850 is a 12pipe card. The X800XL is a 16 pipe card. Furthermore, thanks to ATi, we cant guarantee a certain core on their products (423 vs 480)

i would go for a socket 939 motherboard, and a AMD 3000+ venice CPU

CPU
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...ctCode=80699-5
Mobo
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=246447

the DFI can overclock the CPU pretty nice. and it has a great performance

You may want another PSU than what came with the case. I'm running an antec neopower which is a good choice for teh price (~$100). If you want to try unlocking a GTO2, its the same price, but its up to you. Also theres no point of getting SATA 3 Gb/s, normal users wont notice a difference. Get a 160 gig SATA hard drive instead.
